Berrimah to Darwin

Originally we had planned a long stay in Darwin but non-tent accommodation has turned out to be very expensive so we have decided to catch “The Ghan” back to Katherine and stay a further 4 nights in Katherine before heading west. So before heading into the city we checked over the bikes to make sure nothing was required from a bike shop before we returned to Katherine.

We decided that we would take two ‘Darwin photos’, one outside Parliament House and the other across the road outside Government House and then have lunch in the Smith Street Mall before riding back before rush hour.

Over lunch we commented how surreal it felt to be in Darwin. We were definitely having lunch in Darwin but had we dreamed that we had ridden our bikes most of the way here?

We do not mind saying that we are very proud of our achievement. This trip is the best thing we have ever done.
