Bush Camp to Camoooweal

Our campsite last night was well off the road, however we could still see and hear the road trains throughout the night. Some look quite pretty with all their lights on. It was another cold night and we slept rather well but were woken a couple of times by the wind. Luckily when we got up at 5.30 it was blowing in the right direction for us and the tent was dry, which made packing up easy.

As the day progressed the wind began to swing around so that as we arrived in Camooweal it felt like it was coming at us from the front. However the ride was generally enjoyable with lots of flowering shrubs and trees along the way, purple and mauve seemed to be the dominant colour today. We also saw a wide diversity of birds. We wish we had our bird book with us so we could know what we are looking at.

We camped in the caravan park behind the Camooweal Pub and treated ourselves to a pub meal this evening. The most enjoyable part was dessert of vanilla and strawberry icecream – something you miss when you do not have a fridge.

Zoom into the map and use the 'Satellite' layer to see our new location.

Lunch in the shade. It was too hot to sit in the sun but sitting in the shade we needed jumpers!
